The culture where I come from
Series of illustrations based on the work of the Andalusian professor, writer, musician, and activist Antonio Manuel. The illustrations depict Andalusi words which, in one way or another, reflect the deep roots they have in Spanish culture.
All these illustrations are compiled in a fanzine titled " Nunca olvides de dónde vienes (never forget where you come from)" printed in risograph by @larisoguapa.

La ilaha illa allah

“There is no god but God”. To this day, in flamenco families, the first time a newborn’s nails are cut, it is done by a woman while singing, hidden behind a door. It is done so that the newborn will sing well when they grow up. The sacred chants of Muslims and Moriscos have survived through the centuries by adapting to their surroundings, hiding within words, mutating, camouflaging, outwitting death.

Gentrification brings pain to our neighborhoods.
This is a graphic thought on what´s happening where we live.

A wink to the Spanish Quinqui film.

This is my personal tribute to the Spanish Quinqui movies. This kind of films were centered around underclass delinquents and usually starred non-professional actors picked off the street wich became quite mainstream.

Never broadcast on TV!
“Gazpacho y Mochilo siempre van con pincho VOL. 1: La naranja pucabona” is a trashy-ass fanzine. Gazpacho is an Andalusian pineapple and Mochilo a Canarian banana who, taking excess to the extreme, roam the veggie patch plotting beatdowns and pulling off shady schemes at knifepoint, all while listening to Los Chichos. This first volume features cameos by Naranjito and Yung Beef. Just mad.

PORTRAIT

REGGAE

Mafia & Fluxy meets Chalice Sound.
The people from Chalice Soundsystem asked me to design a cover for their very last work, an LP alongside two living legends: the british musicians and reggae producers Mafia & Fluxy.

The idea consist in found a graphic match between those both iconic musicians and the “castizo” style from Madrid city.

Reggae singers like Brother Wildman (Emeterians), Yeyo Pérez, Lasai or Pipo Ti take part of this special combination.
